Covid 19 update - Statement from CEO

Dear Friends,

These are unprecedented times and we acknowledge that there is a great deal of uncertainty in dealing with the prevailing situation. As a responsible global citizen, we have been closely monitoring the situation regards the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID19) across the globe. We would like to reassure our partners and guests that the health and safety of both our guests and staff is our utmost priority and we are diligently following the guidelines for prevention issued by the World Health Organisation (WHO) as well as the Sri Lanka Ministry of Health.

Local context

As our main properties are situated in Sri Lanka, let me first address the status of the novel coronavirus in the country. The government of Sri Lanka has taken all necessary steps to contain the limited breakout of the disease in the country and we at Asia Leisure are fully supportive of the expeditious measures.

Commitment to Health and Safety

Nevertheless, we at Asia Leisure Hotels have gone above and beyond to ensure all guests and staff at our hotels are protected. As such, we have taken the following measures:

  • Daily sanitisation of common areas is being carried out
  • Hand sanitisers have been placed in all common areas for use of both guests and staff
  • All frontline and kitchen staff are utilising face masks at all times
  • All staff members are educated and trained on protocols to avoid spread of germs, based on WHO and local health department guidelines
  • All staff members are educated and trained on the best practices in handling any situation that may arise

Bookings & Cancellations

At a time of global crisis such as now, it is imperative that we all come together and do our part. So, we understand that you may be prevented from travelling from your country to a holiday you booked a while back or uncertain about an upcoming vacation you had only just started to plan. As such, we have introduced the following policies:

  • Guests who have existing reservations, for any future arrival date (including non-refundable reservations), can amend their reservation to any future date of their choice. Please do inform us of the change before 15 July 2020, and a minimum of 24 hours prior to your former date of arrival.
  • Guests making new reservations (including non-refundable reservations) before 15 July 2020 for any future arrival date, can amend their dates with no charge, up to 24 hours before their scheduled arrival date.

Please note that all changes would be subject to availability and the rate may vary depending on the travelling season.
